What Is A Securely Verifiable Vaccination Record?
“Secure verification” means that your vaccination record has security features like a hologram or unique QR code which allows your vaccination information to be confirmed.
When the QR code is scanned, it reveals your name, DOB and vaccination information. This is the most secure way to prove you are fully vaccinated. Paper copy vaccination records without a unique QR code cannot be scanned to confirm your vaccination status and are not accepted as securely verifiable. This includes CDC vaccination cards.
Travellers who are fully vaccinated but do not have a securely verifiable vaccination record will be required to undergo a 10-day quarantine period.
Why does the Cayman Islands Government require securely verifiable vaccination records?
Secure verification ensures that the vaccination record has been issued by a trusted authority and minimizes the risk of fraud such as the tampering with vaccination records. It also provides security for your personal information.
Secure verification process
Your unique QR code needs to be presented on arrival, either electronically on a mobile device, or as a physical copy. Travellers should keep a printed copy on hand for verification on arrival in case you cannot access Wi-Fi at the airport.
Your QR code will be scanned by the Cayman Islands public health team to reveal your name, DOB and vaccination information. You must also present your photo ID to verify the name and DOB on the QR code.
How can I get a vaccination record with a QR code?
Your personal vaccination QR code must be issued to you by your vaccination provider.
