Are the WORC Offices Open?

WORC is currently open at Apollo House West location with the following services:
  • Customers making cash, debit and credit card payments for Applications, Status and PR Certificates
  • Application submissions with cheques to utilise Drop Bag Service
  • Unemployed Caymanians seeking assistance with registering on JobsCayman (by appointment)
  • Customers paying administrative fines (by appointment)
  • Drop off of documents, e.g. deferrals, cancellation letters, missing info (no appointment needed)

Services are offered Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 4pm

I am applying for a work permit renewal, does the required vaccine law apply to me?

Yes, persons applying for a work permit grant or renewal are required to show proof of vaccination when submitting the work permit application.

 

I have a work permit but need to make an amendment to add a dependant, does the required vaccine law apply to me?

Yes, persons making amendments to their work permits such as adding a dependant are now required to show proof of vaccination.

 

I am applying for a Specialist Caregiver permit, am I required to be vaccinated?

Yes, persons applying for Specialist Caregiver permits are now required to show proof of vaccination when submitting the application.

 

I am currently on a work permit; does the required vaccine apply to me?

Yes, upon submission of an amendment, renewal or submission of a new application.

 

 

I submitted an application for my employee last month, do I need to submit proof of vaccination?

The Act came into force on 14th October 2021, as such applications submitted on or after 15th October 2021 will be subject to the requirements.

 

How do I submit proof of vaccination?

Customers can submit proof of vaccination with their application in person at Apollo West building or via WORCPermitSubmissions@gov.ky.

 

If I submitted a temporary work permit (TWP), does the vaccine requirement apply to me?

Yes, persons now applying for a Temporary Work Permit now need to show proof of vaccination upon submitting the application.



Can I email proof of vaccination?

Proof of vaccination needs to be provided upon submission with all required documents accompanying the application. Email will be WORCPermitSubmissions@gov.ky

 

Does the copy of my vaccination card need to be notarized?

No.

 

What vaccines are approved in the Cayman Islands?

AstraZeneca, Janssen (Johnson and Johnson), Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech.

 

If I am already on island and my work permit was approved after 15 October when the law came in to effect but I am not vaccinated, what do I do?

You will need to make a declaration using the C19 Declaration Form that you will complete an approved vaccine course on the island and then provide a vaccination certificate to WORC within 40 days of the work permit approval. Failure to do so will result in the revocation of the facility.

 

Where can I find a copy of the law stating that vaccinations are now required for certain work permit holders?

The law can be found by visiting the Cayman Islands Gazette website or by clicking here.

 

I am the spouse of a Caymanian, am I required to show proof of vaccination when I submit my RERC application?

No, persons applying for RERC as the spouse of a Caymanian are not required to show proof of vaccination when submitting the RERC application.

 

When does the required vaccination law take effect?

The Act came into force on 14th October 2021 and any application from the 15th October 2021 will be subject to the requirements. 

Where do I find the WORC COVID-19 Vaccination Declaration Form?

The C-19 Declaration Form can be found by clicking here. Or can be found by navigating to www.worc.ky and under the tabs Applications > Forms > then scroll to Miscellaneous Other Forms.

Can I get an exemption from the required vaccination law?

Persons seeking an exemption on medical grounds will need to obtain a letter from a physician in the Cayman Islands (if applying locally) or from a Physician from the country of origin (if applying overseas). The medical certificate (letter) will need to be provided to the Health Services Authority to be reviewed and approved by the Medical Officer of Health. This exemption letter can then be included in the work permit application submission.

What are the types of immigration facilities that are now required to show proof of vaccination upon application submission?

  • Persons applying for work permit grants (WP) or renewing work permits, this includes temporary work permits (TWP) applications and renewals
  • Persons making amendments to a work permit to add dependants
  • Persons applying for a Certificate for Specialist Caregivers
  • Persons applying for Permanent Residence (persons legally and ordinarily residents in the Islands for at least 8 years)
  • Persons applying for Residency Certificates for Persons of Independent Means, and holders of this certificate who are applying for permanent residence
  • Surviving or former spouses or civil partners and adult dependents of holders of
  • Residency Certificates for Persons of Independent Means or holders of Certificates of Permanent Residence for Persons of Independent Means, who are applying for such a certificate/permanent residence in their own right.
  • Persons applying for Certificates of Direct Investment, or surviving/former spouse or civil partner applying for such a certificate in their own right
  • Holders of Residency Certificates (Substantial Business Presence)
  • Spouses, civil partners and dependents of people holding Residency Certificates for Persons of Independent Means and Certificates of Direct Investment
  • Those receiving entry permits approved by Cabinet

I am here under the Global Citizen Concierge program, do I need to be vaccinated?

Yes, you will need to provide proof of vaccination when submitting the Global Citizen application.

I am a PR holder, and I need to make an amendment to my PR application, am I, or my dependants required to get vaccinated?

No, Existing PR holders applying for amendments to the PR applications such as change in occupation or adding dependants are not required to show proof of vaccination.

I am the surviving spouse of a Caymanian, am I required to get vaccinated?

No, a surviving spouse of a Caymanian is not required to show proof of vaccination.

I am the surviving spouse of a Permanent Resident (PR) holder, am I required to show proof of vaccination?

No, a surviving spouse of a Permanent Resident (PR) holder is not required to show proof of vaccination.

I am a non-Caymanian and I work for the Civil Service, am I required to get vaccinated?

 No, non-Caymanian Civil Servants are not required to get vaccinated at this time.
